when i connect my sony dvd camcorder via audio video to my tv , i am able to view the contents on the disc on the tv screen, but when i connect my camcorder to the tv's audio video line out for the purpose of recording a tv program, i am only able to hear and record audio , the video doesnt get displayed on the lcd screen, neither does it get recorded. In other words the same port which works perfectly as audio video line out (on the camcorder) doesnt work properly for line in ( the video doesnt get displayed on the lcd neither the view finder). i have checked the settings wherein it is mentioned to select the "LCD" as the display monitor while recording from an external source, even when it is selected there is no video displayed neither recorded. i have checked the audio video cable and also tried multiple cables , no problem with them. i guess something to do with the firmware, can someone provide me with a solution or the firmware of the model.

  1. From page 120 of the operating instructions (download it for free from the Sony eSupport website if you need it - http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-d... ):

Symptom:  The picture from a TV or VCR does not appear even when your camcorder is connected to output on the TV or VCR.

Cause and/or Corrective Actions:  [Display] is set to [V-OUT/LCD] in the SETUP display.  -> set it to [LCD] (page 114)
