  2. Any Sony handyCam with a Sony "Active Interface Adapter" can use special Sony mics. Most of these low-end camcorders do not have manual audio control.

    The least expensive Sony camcorder that has a real mic in jack and manual audio control are the HDR-HC7 and HC9.
