  1. Get you manual here:

    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-h...

You will use the camcorder's DV port, using a firewire (i.Link, IEEE13094a) cable connected to your computer's firewire port. If your computer does not have a firewire port, they are typically easy to install if your computer has an available PCI slot (tower) or PCMCIA or Express slot (laptop). If you are using a Macintosh, they have had firewire400 ports for years.

USB will be used for web streaming (and transferring stills from a memory card it it has one).

The manual will have a "what's in the box" near the start.

  2. No, it can't. You've asked about firewire in your other question - firewire's just another PC interface, like USB.  The difference is that it supports a data transfer mode that guarantees the availability of enough bandwidth to do video transfers in realtime.  USB2 is slightly quicker, but it can be interrupted, which is bad news if your camcorder's still trying to send data down the wire from its tape.  Firewire also allows the camcorder to be controlled from the PC, which can't be done with USB.
