One side does fit into the computer though so i just need to know where the hole is on the camera to plug into. Thanks!

  1. if your computer has a DVD drive, finalize the disc in the camcorder...

    download and install handbrake

    http://handbrake.fr/

Take the disc out of the camcorder and put it in the drawer loading DVD drive in your computer. Launch HandBrake; rip the DVD.

If your computer's optical drive is CD only or is a slot loader, then you need to use an "analog/digital bridge"

Warning: Video captured by DVD based consumer camcorder was never really meant to be edited. The video quality will be pretty bad.

    Good luck.

  2. You don't hook a minidvd camcorder directly to your PC.....

If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.
