Sony or Microsoft, which is a better company in your opinion

And no this is not about the console war, leave the GayStation 3 and Shitbox 360 out of this, I am talking about their products in general....thanks.

Sony has an industry wide reputation for their "customer-no-service" policy and I stopped even servicing anything with the name Sony on it back in the 80s. Microsoft on the other hand has never marketed a product that worked, with the exception of their Age of Empires games.

Vista is a prime example of what I mean. So take your pick, they do both have their good points, until the proverbial rubber band breaks.

Other than consoles and some software, there's not a whole lot of areas where the two companies compete with each other.

Let's face it both companies are huge corporations and have had their fair share of criticisms, some of it warranted in my opinion.

So what it comes down to is determining what product you are after, looking at what each company has to offer, listening to what people have to say about each product and then making an informed purchase.

For instance I have a Sony Playstation 3 and Sony Bravia TV. My computers are made by somebody else but some of them run Microsoft products.  I picked these products because they did what I wanted them to do and had the best perceived benefits for me in them.  I didn't let corporate culture dictate my choices in these cases.
