The internet is abuzz with speculation surrounding Sony’s latest tease. Could it be God of War 4 or Red Dead Redemption for the PlayStation Vita?
Teasing has become a main pillar in the promotion or the build up to a reveal in the games industry. Some companies, publishers and studios take it more seriously than others and Sony seems obsessed with teasing new titles these days; almost as revenge for
the days when all their news would be leaked.
However, the latest image posted by Sony on their PlayStation Facebook page reads, “Will vengeance bring redemption?” with the date “04.19.12” given for release (not of the game but rather the announcement of what exactly the game is).
As mentioned earlier, the internet has come to life with speculation as to what the game might be. The firm favourite at this point is another God of War game, with God of War 4 a front runner.
The game has been Sony’s worst kept secret and Ready At Dawn, the developers behind the two PlayStation Portable God of War games are currently at work on a new title. This piece of information, however, adds another talking point: could the new game be
for the PlayStation Vita?
It does seem to add up seeing how Sony needs a console selling title and God of War would fit the bill perfectly. At the same time there is a complication as well, as many rumours are adamant that the next God of War game would be a launch title for the
PlayStation 4.
However, a section of speculators (read, ‘gamers’) have noted that the word ‘Redemption’ is larger than the rest of the text on the screen and have come to the conclusion that it could be a Red Dead Redemption game for the PlayStation Vita.
The sad bit is that Rockstar aren’t any good at keeping secrets and a RDR game for the Vita would have been leaked by now.
Having said that it would be interesting to find out what Sony have up their teaser filled sleeve, though the smart money would be on a new God of War game.
