  1. xplod is really bad speaker. Pio is better, but which one is it, only god knows - almost all car audio manufacturers does not provide enaugh technical informations about products. And if you don't know all the parameters, you cannot know whats better. Maybe the more expensive thing?

  2. Now first things first buddy. Sony Xplod 12" is 1300w but for enclosure. (but since I've been into speakers and using my calculations fixed one on a metal-framed plank in a Santro with great success) Pioneer Free-air Champion Series is 12" 900 watts Free Air to be installed on plank. Both these subs are equally good to my ears. It depends on whether your necessity is for using the speakers on a plank or for a box.  Car audio guys always insist Pioneer for everything, but come on knowing Sony I dont underestimate them at all when it comes to sound. If U have a good amp say Sony 504Z or 544Z 4-channel or a Pioneer 904 or even better GM-X944 4-channel amp then these subs are gonna pump along with your other speakers. The basic difference I find when it comes to their sets... Pioneer more bass oriented, whereas Sony u get Bass, but u get to hear more of voice too which is good for some bad for others... But for the woofer part... These two subs are cool and pumping...

  3. Pioneer any day mate
