  1. No.

  2. NO

you are better off going with a company that makes higher end subs and getting their entry level subs

i would recommend getting come Kicker Comps to start off with, or some Kicker CVRs if you dont want to upgrade in a year (after about a year or two regardless of what you have, you will want more)

you are safe with any of these brands but some are better than others, they are all CEA-complaint

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    JVC

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    Memphis

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Orion

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)

  3. Well you started well. As you said, subs for starters will best describe the Sony Subwoofers. I personally dont like them much but i believe they are well priced and look cool also. Just make sure you have a good equalization and a good quiality reciever. Later on you can change and/or add more things to improve your sound quality and performance.

  4. wouldn't waste the money on them....

check out these sites for subs...in most cases you only need one:

    http://www.reaudio.com

    http://www.audiopulse.com

    http://www.audioque.com

    http://www.soundsplinter.com

    http://www.ddaudio.com

    http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com

    http://www.ficaraudio.com

  5. Okay to start, but you will soon find that they have limitations.  Might want to think if it is worth it to buy "starter" subs and having to reinvest in new subs later down the road or if you should just spend good money now for good subs that you won't have to replace later.

  6. yes, they are ok subs, but nothing special, thats what i first put in my truck, and it sounds pretty good and i've had it for about 3 years.

  7. Definatley just fine for starters. So long as you make sure your amp will run it.

  8. Dont buy these subs. You'll find that spending a little bit extra and getting what you really want will really satisfy you at the end. Even as a starter system I wouldnt recommend these.
