Does this camera require a specific memory card by sony, or can you use any other kind of memory card?

I think sony's memory cards are quite expensive, and I can find a cheaper one for the same quality and use.

So does it requre a sony memory card??

Sony's Cyber-Shot cameras use Memory Sticks.

Specifically, the W80 can use Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo cards.

Sony makes these exclusively but SanDisk and Lexar also have licenses to make and sell Memory Sticks. These are sometimes cheaper but not by much.
