if nobody cared, it wouldn't matter. but hey, those nerds are gonna be your bosses someday. playing chess shows your intelligence and intellect in strategy. your not a nerd if you dont think your a nerd

It's unfortunate that we are labelled because of how we like to spend our spare time.  I wouldn't consider someone who plays chess to be a nerd or a dork, but then again I play trading card games so I'm kinda biased :-)

I'm not a nerd/dork and I enjoy chess quite a bit... it's a game of intelligence... and you do not have to be a nerd/dork to be intelligent.

Being a nerd/dork is a state of mind... it is not defined by what an individual enjoys.
