  2. i had this exact question when trying out for my high schools POMS team last year. u need to have incredible energy! smile constantly. if u mess up, do not panic. just simply start back where u started.

if you want to wow the judges, cheer full out! when citing cheers (yelling), raise your eyebrows. make sure that when doing arm movements, make sure that they're sharp and intricate. don't forget to point your toes (lol, no flexed feet allowed!)

when finished with your audition, say thank you for your time, and see you soon. that shows that you're confident that you'll make the team.

    good luck!

  3. Make sure that you smile, a lot. Have tight and stiff motions for all your moves. Try and show personality during your tryout. Have a good attitude throughout the tryout, the coaches WILL notice your attitude and it will reflect upon whether you make the team or not, no one wants a snob on their team. And of course do your best!

  4. Idk what you can do skill wise... but my tryout routine was this:

    backhandspring back tuck,

    toe touch,

    a cheer they taught us,

then 2 backhand springs and a full...

then ended with a shin lift and into middle splits

i got varsity! hope you do too! good luck!!!

  5. I think you should work on jumps and overall tightness with your arm motions.

For tumbling, I wanna say that a basic backhandspring should be enough to get enough through tryouts. They should tell you what they expect of you.

Be sure to smile, and if you mess up, don't be afraid. Just keep smiling, and just get right back into it ,like you were supposed to mess up. They will admire that you kept going and didn't give up.

  6. I guess you can check out Youtube and look for some videos. Try to learn a few things from those videos to impress them.
