  1. Since I have spent mostof my life in and around hospitals fo various reason, I can tell you that pins and plates ae actually going to make you feel better, and you will less pain, if not all pain gone aftr this ordeal is over.My 'gramma' was in the hospital for a shattered leg a few years ago, and she has enough hardware in her leg that she sets off  the alrms at the courthouse and airports.  Th cool thing is that she thinks its funny, and a lot of people in those kinds of places take her out of line and use a hand scanner because he always sets the alarms off.  She is 72 (73 in a couple months), and she really is happy that she has her 'bionic gramma hardware' because she can go whee nad when she wants to, andnot worry about pain or having to use a wheelchair.  It will take a while to heal, bu honestly, from seeing gramma after th surgery, and seeing a couple friends get their own screws an stuff that I wouldtell you to not be upset.  Look forward to not having to have the pain, and also not having to have joints replacesd because of your ankle.  See if you can get a laptop in your room so you can tell us how it went and how you are doing.

  2. im proud of you that youve stayed strong til this day. peace.

AND I HOPE YOU GET BETTER! =)

  3. You sleep through the whole thing.

I do set off the metal detectors in the airports though

  4. OK you will be asleep during surgrey. when u get out you will just sleep for the nest few hours. when you wake up there will be some pain, but not too bad, and discoloration. they will give you pain medicine that you will use for a few weeks but soon u will only need tylanol, and then nothing. you will soon be able to walk more with crutches and get around on ur own more. just be careful when traveling and things not to stress it out too much or you will be in pain. dont worry it wont be that bad. only a few weeks(like 2) will you be inconvienced. good luck hope ur ankle gets better.
