I know many of you are 'bush' Fans but, are too Young to give an Experienced/Well Read Answer but, You SURE waste NO TIME SPOUTING your Elders Views:

"WASHINGTON — An exhaustive review of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents that were captured after the 2003 U.S. invasion has found no evidence that Saddam Hussein's regime had any operational links with Osama bin Laden's al Qaida terrorist network".

"The Pentagon-sponsored study, scheduled for release later this week, did confirm that Saddam's regime provided some support to other terrorist groups, particularly in the Middle East , U.S. officials told McClatchy . However, his security services were directed primarily against Iraqi exiles, Shiite Muslims, Kurds and others he considered enemies of his regime.

  1. I hate Bush, but get over it already.... we already know the facts and what he's done is stupid... so do something about it by voting for the best candidate to represent our nation.

  2. Don't you know your own government by now? All they need to do is think "democracy" and they'll invade countries under any made-up pretext: WMD, murdering dictator, harboring terrorist, anything scary to the gullible American public (you too!)

I say this - the interference in other countries' affairs, violation of international law - is what the US is all about for the past few decades. Because they want their brand of "democracy" practised by other countries, they will be ruthless, spend trillions to carry out their policies and their ideologies.

Look at your Civil War. The North just cannot tolerate the Southerners' slavery and invaded them to impose their own governance unto the Southern Americans. You just have to force others to accept your way of life. Iraq is no different. Democratic? Hypocrisy!!

Right now, right now the US Sec of Defence, Gates are shaking hands with the INdonesia military to sell billions in armaments in order to counter China. Why the paranoia? The US used to pour billions in backing Indonesia's former dictator whose military killed 1 million of their own people (opposition to Suharto). Democracy?

Now the problem for America begins... you cannot afford to leave Iraq or Afghanistan because all your allies in NATO don't believe in your gospel. But it has to stay the course alone.

The Cost of Retreat in Iraq.

Iraq issue has dominated the US presidential campaign, but despite the rhetoric, candidates know that no American president could afford to leave Iraq unstable.

This is because such a move would damage American prestige and influence, as well as undermine the credibility assured by American security.

A hurried withdrawal from Iraq would cause the leaders of many countries to conclude that the American people cannot tolerate the nearly 4,000 casualties they have suffered in Iraq and that in a protracted asymmetrical war, the US government will not have its people's support to bear the pain that is necessary to prevail.

And this even after the surge of 30,000 additional troops under General David Petraeus has resulted in an improved security situation.

Gulf leaders raised fears that an early US withdrawal from Iraq would "gravely jeopardize" their security.

A hasty retreat would upset the balance of power between the two groups (Shiites-Sunnis), and pave the way for Shiite Iran to assert its dominance. This would also make it more difficult for a diplomatic compromise to be reached on the Iranian nuclear issue.

America cannot do it alone in Iraq. It needs a multilateral coalition. There is none coming; it's only token gestures/actions now.

No matter who you pick, black or female, the US can only sink deeper... and deeper. What say you now?

  3. It was common knowledge before we invaded that Saddam and bin Laden had nothing to do with each other. If anything, they were enemies.  The Bushistas lied us into invasion/occupation and the american public let him get away with it.

  4. Saddam's links to Terror Organisations were that of harbouring them. In return they had to declare that they would not attack his country. It was and is the same stance that Saudi Arabia takes. That's how al-Zarqawi ended up in Iraq. He was harboured by Saddam and allowed to start a training camp. He directed his attention to defectors as they were his smoking guns and needed to be silenced immediatly if they were threatening to expose the secrets of Iraq. Most Fundamental terrorists do it for their extreme views based on Islam...even Osama called Saddam a "Bad Muslim". Bin Laden despised Saddam and so did Ayman al-Zawahiri. Saddam only involved himself with Islam when it benefitted him and to keep control of his population

I never liked bush anyway...typical cowboy try-hard riding the coat tails of daddy. Just because you can afford to run for candidancy does not mean you should.
