  1. take pain relievers. do you warm up and cool down before you exercise? if you do not, lactic acid builds up and your muscles get sore.

In track and field that always happens to me and we have those pain reliever sprays or something, but a common home remedy is a hot warm bath to sooth the muscles.

just next time, don't forget to warm up and stretch before lpaying and stretch after playing so you do not get sore muscles. Hope I helped!:)

  2. Do you do any kind of "warm-up" routine like calf stretches, hamstring stretch before you play?  That will really help.  Light stretches of about 5-10 minutes will prepare your muscles before you play volleyball.  When you stretch, hold the position for about 30 seconds and do it about 3x.

Also, maybe your potassium is a little low.  I have a friend who'd eat a banana an hour before his swimming competition.  It helps prevent muscle cramps.

  3. Sometimes you play too violently without proper warm up, you tear a lot of muscles, that why they hurt. The part that hurts is usually very stiiff, like the muscle just contracted and won't release and may be warm like that part is having fever! Use a massager on the part, it certainly relieve it. Based on my experience.
