ok so last night i waxed my upper lip myself. i have used this waxing kit before with no reaction. But there was a little bit of wax left and i couldn't get it off so i used nail polish remover (i noe, stupid) and the wax came off, but it made my mustache area turn bright red! i woke up this morning and it is still bright red and stinging. Any home remedies?

  1. Aloe is soothing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. It helps in healing all kinds of wounds including abrasions. Use the pure gel for topical application.

Calendula is anti-inflammatory, astringent and antiseptic. Calendula promotes new skin growth and stops bleeding.

A few drops of lavender oil is said to help in healing abrasions.

The affected area can be disinfected using thyme tea or with a cup of water containing 3-5 drops of the essential oil.

Home made salves and ointments made with tea tree, calendula and comfrey are effective in treating abrasions.

also, wash the are with a mild cleanser. then use one of those above ( aloe is best ) and put that on generously.

    Good Luck!

    Hope I helped :)

  2. The best solution is when wakeup on morning dont wash your mouth with water. Just apply your mouth Saliva to your lips and keep it there for 15 minutes .

  3. Don't put vaseline or worse--- baby oil in that area!!! You need to heal it and sooth it. Vaseline and baby oil will irritate it!!!

Go to the health food or vitamin store and get some Emu Oil. It's a healing oil that you can use as a moisturizer too. I even use it to take off my make-up.

  4. you should have used baby oil to get the rest of the wax off. I wax my legs and wax is left often and I use baby oil...it works great.

For the redness you have now,you will just have to wait til it goes away. You can use alittle foundation in the meantime.

  5. Maybe ice can soothe it and make it go away.

Apply some foundation, liquid works best, and sort of "stab" it into your skin with a cosmetic wedge.

  6. Vasaline, always after waxing. I use it. it always soothes the burning pain.
