Sophie Gustafson set to prove her worth in Germany this week

Sophie Gustafson, looking set to participate in the UniCredit Ladies German Open, has vowed to prove her mettle in a field featuring some of the most battle-hardened LET (Ladies European Tour) stars.
The German Open is set to be staged at the prestigious Golfpark Gut Hausern, Germany, from May 24 to 27, with the defending champion, Diana Luna, in the roster.
Despite the tough field, Gustafson looks quite optimistic about her plans, as she said that she will do her best to record her 15th LET triumph.
Speaking to the media about how she will fare against players like Diana Luna and Laura Davies, the Swedish superstar said that she does not think that playing against these players will be an uphill task, as she has been able to regain her momentum in the
past few weeks.
Gustafson pointed out that the course, Golf Park Gut Hausern, is one of her favourites, which will surely help her gain advantage over her rivals.
When asked how she improved her putting in recent days, the Swede said that she has been working with a new coach, who has helped her fix most of her lapses.
She added that the new training method is proving fruitful for her, and the fans will see a much better game this year.
“I have a new putting coach and I have been starting to use an aim point,” she said. “My putting coach is called Matt Pakkala and I met him over in Hawaii when I was over for the tournament a month ago. It’s the putting that I most struggle with and he’s
been helping me”.
Although Gustafson also plays on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour, she has performed relatively better on the LET.
Racking up 5 victories on the LPGA, the golfing sensation now looks determined to do even better on the European Tour.
“I wouldn’t enter a tournament if I didn’t feel I could win it and that would certainly give my season a great boost. It’s a nice course and a very good set up but it all depends on what game shows up tomorrow morning and I think I have a fairly good chance”.
