Sophie Gustafson shares feelings with fans
Sophie Gustafson is making big plans these days, as she said that it has been a long time since she bagged surprises on the course.
Gustafson has been outstanding throughout her career, as she racked up five victories on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour. The Swedish star said that the Tour has given her plenty of confidence.
On the other hand, Ladies European Tour (LET) is also prominent in her profile. Gustafson grabbed 14 triumphs on the Tour, highlighting that she has resilience and strength required to shine at big events.
Moreover, the 38-year-old star has also participated in the Solheim Cup eight times.
She recently gave an interview to the media, expressing her feelings about how she is going to fare against rivals in the upcoming events.
She said that despite her finishing tied for the 42nd at the HSBC Women’s Champions 2012, she has been in the news for a host of interviews to different news services.
Gustafson could not steal the show at the event, but she gave a tough time to her rivals in the first two rounds.
She carded a 72 in the first round, making easy strokes across the course. She faltered a little on some holes but most of the day, she looked calm and composed.
Gustafson said that she had made some clear plans for the 2012 season. Speaking of her interview, she said that she has not been able to give much time to interviews in recent months, which is not good.
“Doing regular Tv interviews for me has been pretty much impossible. But I wanted to go a little out of my comfort zone this year and just see if I was able to, could do it. So if you bear with me, you’ll find out a little bit more about me,” she said.
Having racked up 28 professional victories, Gustafson has always been considered a tough contender by her competitors.
She amazed her fans in the 2001 season, when she grabbed a title at Subaru Memorial of Naples, inflicting a humiliating defeat on her nearest rival.
She said that she is happy with the support she received from her fans and LPGA officials. “I am overwhelmed by the amount of positive response I have gotten”.
