  3. I'm having a cocktail party for my hen night,  I'm serving canapes, things like Iceland party platter, Orental snacks, voluvents, veggie sticks and dips, that sort of thing,  but other ideas are eggs, posh crisps,

  4. Savoury things

Stuffed mushrooms (regular mushroom- stalk removed, chuck of chorizo "spanish sausage" cover with grated chesse and grill), king prawn kebabs- with a thai sweet chilli dip.

    Sweet things

Fruit kebabs - strawberry, mango, pineapple on a stick

Oh and you do a chocolate fondue....very Fun!

  5. since getting engaged i have been watching a ton of wedding shows and it seems that the new sophisticated foods are comfort foods. i have seen everything from mini cheeseburgers to bites of gourmet mac and cheese served in little spoonfuls. i have also seen mini grilled cheese sandwiches. and who doesn't love those things?

  6. go down to a langerie shop and buy the p***s candies.Thats hilarious.

  7. Wow - I love mini foods!  They are so much fun.  Here are some things I have been served at formal funtions at my hubby's work...

    Savoury

    - Hamburgers (one slice of cherry tomato, small rissole, lettuce, cheese and sauce on a mini bun)

    - Hotdogs (a cherio sausage in a bread roll - you know the small long ones you eat with soup?)

    - Pizzas (same size as the hamburgers with whatever topping you like)

    - Pies & Sausage Rolls (just the typical party pies and sausage rolls - they can look nice if served correctly)

    - Spring Rolls (these are always nice if served with a good sauce)

    - Chicken 'Drumsticks' (they use a smaller part of the chicken with a nice marinate and push the meat to the end of the bone to make them look like mini drumsticks!)

    - Vol-au-vents (a nice pastry which you can put anything in - from creamy sauces of chicken, corn, mushroom or even salmon)

    Sweet

    - Icecreams (these were the best - with a mini cone filled with icecream and a hard icing on the top to stop them from melting)

    - Cheesecakes (bite size with the pastry enclosing a nice cheesecake filling with a berry 'jelly' on top)

    - Lemon Meringues (same idea as cheesecakes with the pastry holding the lemon filling with a meringue on top)

    - Rum Balls (or variations of - these always go down well)

    - Cupcakes (these are great in bit size portions and easy to make - you just need mini cases!)

And remember that fruit and cheese platters always go down well too.  Also (for savoury) antipasto platters are a good option.

  8. Ham Roll ups

Take thin sliced deli ham, smear cream cheese on it, put an onion or a pickle spear on top, roll it up and cut it into bite size pieces.

  9. pigs in a blanket, stuffed mushroom, shrimp, meatballs and sausages.
