My teacher didn't really teach us how to do these problems (she basically hands us our assignment and leaves the rest to us. We are studying angles

Find the value of x

m<AOC = 7x - 2 , m<DOC = 2x + 8, m<EOD = 27

I dpn't want to know the answer, I just want to know how to do them.

I'm really confused, so if anyone could explain how to do these problems, you'd be my saviour (or my teacher, better yet.)

By the way, these "<" are angle signs, hehe.

  1. Okay, so I'm going to assume by this problem that you're talking about a triangle.

    So, you have to ask yourself, how many degrees are in a triangle. (180)

    What you do is you add that all together.

    You end up getting:

    7x-2+2x+8+27

    or

    9x + 33

    Now, you know it has to equal 180 because of the amount of degrees that goes into a triangle.

    9x + 33 = 180.

    From there, you subtract 33 from each.

    9x = 147

    Now, you divide each side by nine to get x alone.

    From there you get

    x = 16 1/3

    And there's your answer

    Hope I could help,
