Sophomore year question?

ok so i just took algebra for my freshman year. im wondering if i should take geomtery and trig during sophomor year since i had practice with trig this summer. im not sure if i can handle the work. please help

  1. It all depends on what you want to do in the future (college or otherwise), and if the higher math is necessary. If you need to take the higher math classes, then I definitely recommend you take them as close together as possible. This way any information from basic algebra is fresh in your mind, and it gives you a leg up in areas where the three courses build on each other.

    If you don't need it to graduate, then I'd look over you career prospects or the college of your choice. If the program you want requires these classes it's in your best interest to take them. No reason to cause a problem later on. In addition, courses such as geometry and trig will make your live MUCH easier on the SAT, a big factor for college admission.


  2. I think that taking geometry after algebra is a pretty standard sequence, so if you put in a reasonable amount of effort into the class, you should be just fine if you it.
