  1. Resting anytime you can, stretching is a big thing too. Applying ice often will help. Try not to walk barefoot too much. Sports insoles will help as well.

  2. Rest and water jet

  3. I have an achilles tendon issue also and it's no fun at all.  It turns out I do two things badly so think about your form.  One thing I do is hyperextend my leg, which puts a lot of pressure on the tendon.  The other thing I do is pronate -- my feet roll in -- so I now have SuperFeet (the heavy-duty green ones) in all my athletic shoes.  The SuperFeet helped a LOT.

I do a lot of one-footed exercises now to keep my strength up and also to maintain good balance.  One-footed stiff dead lifts and one-footed squats are things I do every day.  I went to a physical therapist (recommended by a podiatrist) 4 times and she really fixed me up.

If it hurts a lot after you practice, be sure to ice it.  Warm up carefully and get some SuperFeet.  Take care!

  4. Stretch!!!!
