Sore knees?

is it normal for your knees tobecome sore while adjusting to running on the treadmill.

i've just startted running on the treadmill, not very fast though (4mp) and i'm starting to feel some discomfort in my knee area... is ths common for beginner runners?

  1. Yup! It's normal to get an leg injury in any sport you play. Just make sure that after every practice you ice your knees. You should fill a plastic cup with water and when it's frozen you peal the cup and use the ice to ice your knees. Trust me it works because I get knees aces and it helps. Especially the day before a meet.


  2. Well I will have to disagree with Super because first some questions will need to be asked.

    Are you over weight? If so by how much? If you are over weight then running when your knees hurt is a sign you should stop because your knees cant handle the weight... so switch to a bike or elliptical.

    Once you get your weight down it shouldnt hurt you  and if it does hurt for more than a week you need to stop. You can also start on other machines and get your knees used to movement like running by doing other exercises.

  3. yes...it's normal...but after a couple of weeks it shouldn't be sore.
