Sore on my gums right at the base of a tooth!?

I have a small sore barely visable on my back tooth right at the gumline... it is tiny but is causing pain to sear through my entire upper jaw... and i have taken two vicodin and NOTHING... help.

  1. I just dealt with the same. It sounds like you have an abscess. It will only get worst if its an infected tooth. You probably need antibiotics and maybe a root canal as well. Please don't delay seeing a dentist. Good Luck.


  2. it might be an abscess. Those can get REALLY painful. Does it look like a little bump or small pimple?? You should contact your dentist, you may have an infected tooth, and this may be why a small abscess formed. Antibiotics should clear it up.
