Hi There

I am now on day 4 of a bad cold/sore throat. I've already been through the fever, body weakness and ache part and im now onto a constantly running nose and extremly sore throat down one side. Now I'll admit this is better than how I was yesterday and the day before but I havent slept properly for the last 3 nights - any tips on sooting symptoms, getting to sleep??

Any advice much appreciated!

  1. Well its sounds like youre getting better, thats good :) For the sore throat  you can drink hot water with a couple of teaspoons of honey and lemon juice. It soothes the throat quite a bit. Also, when drinking water, never drink it cold, always warm. And for sleeping all i can think about is sleeping pills. If you dont want to take them just remember you will be better soon and you can sleep all you like then! :)

  2. I don't feel like explaining all of it because I already have about 10 times, but do this main routine.

A short walk in the morning will work wonders. Eat Cayenne Pepper and Garlic. (I would recommend eating garlic with a banana, it hides flavor) Please don't take medicine, it kills you after a while. Don't eat foods that create mucus. Those can be any dairy products and white bread, surprisingly. I hope you get better.

  3. I use HALLS to clear my sore throat. I use the ones with the highest percentage of menthol. I will just keep popping them in  continuously after each one dissolves completely. Usually my sore throat goes away in a day from doing this. I know they don't taste that good, but I would rather taste those than have a sore throat.

  4. I have found with colds that unfortunately they don't let up until they are good and ready!  You could try the following:

    -Sip hot tea

-Dine on Campbells' Chicken Noodle Soup

-Have some orange juice or similar

-Try applying warm to hot washcloths on your throat and sinus area to help ease it

    -Tylenol or Advil

    -Vicks if you like it

-Sleep Sleep Sleep!  Seems to help immensely!  Some Benadryl will make you drowsy.

-I have heard people say that over the counter medicines like DayQuil or similar are helpful in relieving symptoms

-Hope you feel better soon!  It seems so early for such a bad cold!!
