Question:

Sore throat in the morning?

I'm 16 and I've had M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for the past year and 8 months (and counting!!) I always have a sore throat when I wake up in the morning, but within a hour or so of being up it doesn't hurt anymore. It has been this way since Christmas! Around the beginning of May I had a throat infection and ever since then my throat often feels like it's "clogged up", so I have to try to clear it a lot but that doesn't really get rid of the feeling.

Any ideas what this could be? It's driving me crazy and I've spent enough time since I've been ill with ME/CFS at the doctors/at hospitals so I don't particarly like the idea of spending even more time with doctors... Help would be very much appreciated.

  1. You're probably a heavy snorer. Try some of the Breathe Rights strips and see if that helps, but before you apply it, take an alcohol pad and clean the sides of you nose, they'll stick better. If you sleep on your back, try sleeping on your side. Works for me. Good luck to you sir.

  2. i've had this for the past 4 months =| it's apparently something thats common with CFS (getting throat infections) and since I've been sick I've had 5 different throat infections. get a throat swab if you can ! it's how i've been diagnosed every time

    good luck x*x
