i had my show last week and i noticed throughout the entire day, we were all complaining of pain in our big toes, feeling like the toe nail was going to fall off. we were not doing any work on pointe, just wearing tights and whatever type of dance shoes we were wearing, like we always do. and my toe is still a bit sore to this day. any idea what this is?

  1. if you weren't doing any pointe then that's a bit weird.

sometimes if you jump really quickly and don't quite land through your feet?

  2. You might have shoes that are to small. I had shoes that are too small and my big toe hurt like crazy.

Try bigger shoes and if this doesn't work then maybe your toenails are too long.

It also may be dancing to much per week.

I am sorry I don't have very many opinions what is wrong with your toe.

  3. I have pointe shoes too and they kill my feet. My suggestions are: put cotton balls in the top, this makes it softer on your feet; keep your nails short, the longer your nail is the more it pushes on you toes; lastly, only wear the pointe shoes when you need to, I practice in my regular ballet shoes.

  4. if u have sore toes..best way to get relieve from it..put them in the warm water and put little bit salt in it..keep ur feet for a while like 10 to 15min..and then wrap in the towel afterwards or u can pull it out and do some massssaaaggge on it..u gonna get relieve well tht wht i do for my sore feet..

  5. if you  didn't do any pointe what so ever then i have no idea what caused it but i would just soak them in the bath, moisturise them and then put some nice think wolly socks on before jumping into bed. sore feet need rest! =)

  6. You havent done any pointe correct, maybe the strainage of your feet caused it, I suggest you soak them in warm warted with epson salts or soap for about 10-15 minutes.

  7. If you were ALL complaining about sore toes it is definitely something you were doing.  There must be a movement in your show that caused the soreness (rehearsing dances over and over in preparation for a performance can create soreness or pain you wouldn't normally notice).  It will take a bit for the soreness to go away.  If the pain does not fade after about a week, you might need to get it checked out.

  8. Cut your nails.....if you haven't been on pointe for a while and then you do a long class on pointe, that will definitely cause sore nails.  Also, if you're on longer than usual that will also hurt.  I would always have the same problem.  You could also try different pads (get thicker ones maybe)
