Sorrento - anyone been there?

I've seen plenty of youtube stuff of Sorrento and a couple of webcams in the town etc., but would be grateful for your personal impression of Sorrento and surrounding area. They do a Lemon Liquor there [forget name] anyone tried that?

hi  I have not been there . I have a friend who is half italian and her family have a villa in Sorrento and I have seen  photos  of the place looks  really nice and its very hot there.

yep! i was recently there in late july...YUCK! that stuff tasted nasty! it tasted like lemon flavored vicks vapor rub! haha they also have chocolate flavored liquor which is okay, but still very strong and a burning sensation when you swallow it....

EDIT: oops sorry i forgot to give you my impression...its a very nice place, there are lots of cute shops to go shopping and theyre really cheap price wise too! the people seem nice and overall its just a neat place to visit!

Yes, here are the pro's and con's to keep it brief:

Pro's

Limoncello is delicious!

weather is great

hotels are clean

food is excellent and safe

shops and markets are varied & interesting

people are friendly

everyone speaks English

you can drink the tap water and flush paper down the loos

Con's

Too many scooters/mopeds - they are noisy and fast and sometimes nearly run you over

A bit touristy

Not much to do outside of Sorrento, unless you book an excursion with your holiday rep at resort.
