What would a teacher mean by "social situation"?

For my English class, the question is "Explain Godfrey's social situation?" but i'm not sure what they mean by "social situation". Can someone explain it a little for me?

When you don't understand something your teacher asks, ask her to explain it immediately.

This means how does he fit into the community in terms of the social life there and how is he connected to other people and the community in general.

For example, Molly, is secretly married to Godfrey.
