Sorry for asking ?????

I know I ask alot of baby shower questions, but since I've been pregnant I get really paranoid about what people think(i have no clue why). Well, I just learned about a new "trend" or whatever, it's having a baby shower for grandma. My sister and I want to give our mom one because we are both pregnant (about 2 1/2 months apart) and my mom is so excited! We were going to do it in October, because my sis's baby shower in at the end of November. We were going to keep it small, just close friends of my mom and family. What does everyone think about this?

  1. I think it's a bit strange... you girls should be the one getting a shower, not your mother.

  2. I think you do whatever you feel comfortable with.  If you and your sister thing this would be fun, go for it!!  I haven't heard of it before, but I know how exciting the first grandchild/grandchildren, must be.  Why not celebrate it!!

  3. I've honestly never heard of it...why have a shower for grandma? So she can get stuff for her place? You and you sis can just give her the extras from your showers. If you want to do something special for your mom try having a weekend get away for just you girls and your mom or instead of calling it a grandma shower...make it a luncheon.

  4. I have never heard of a "Grandma's baby shower". I don't think this is a trend (at least in the U.S.). Do what you feel is right however I would like to warn you that I fear some who have never heard of this (which is almost everyone) may think it is a ruse or excuse to get people to spend money on more baby stuff for the pregnant woman of the grandmother-to-be. If this is the case, some of your guests (especially those that are invited to both the grandmother-to-be's party and the mother-to-be's party) will not look very highly on the situation.

Just offering my opinion, I would really think twice before doing this...It could have bad reputation repercussions if the family's intentions are misunderstood.

  5. A baby shower for Grandma? Never heard of this... Goodness. It's certainly your choice, but I personally wouldn't do it... I'd save that money for the baby *I* was having! In my opinion, Grandma had her time; now it's my turn!

  6. I have never heard of this, and really it sounds a little odd.
