Sorry for re posting ..i need to take oxytetracyline tablets and i cant swallow them whole?

i actually cant do it.Ive been trying for about a hour now shall i just chew it? or will it not work

OMG - those are suppositories !

Try putting them in yogurt or taking them with milk, the thicker substance makes swallowing them easier. Don't know if it applies to this tablet, but they sometimes discourage the crushing up of tablets as it means they are absorbed too quickly making you unwell.

Heya,

DONT CHEW THEM. Go and see your family GP at the next opportunity and tell them you are unable to take them, and they will put you on an alternative treatment what ever you do DONT TAKE THEM.

Please place the medication in a paper envelop. Carefully crush the medication using mortar and pestle. Mix the medication with applesauce. It will be easier to swallow.

If you melt the medication in a drink, the medication's effectiveness will lessen the longer it is left soaking.

Cut them in half. I have trouble swallowing vitamins, but I have to take them every day (I have anemia), so I find taking it with a half a glass of soda or some kind of bubbly drink helps.

try either crunching it in your mouth or maybe a better idea of letting it dissolve in a drink , any drink you like as long as it isnt alchol.

Not knowing what these are for, and therefore the taste of them, if you chew them, you might find that going to bed with the tablet in and around your mouth may make you feel terrible.

Obviously it's weekend now, so either break the tablets up in manageable form, and swallow, or leave it till Monday am and phone your G.P, alternatively, go to a pharmacist tomorrow Sat, and they will give you some info on whether or not you could dilute them with/in water.
