Sorry ladies... I promised I wouldn't do this!! Help?

Question

I had my IUI (without the HCG shot) 10 days ago. I done a HPT 6 days after (stupid I know) which was neg, I done another this morning and looked at it about 4 Min's later and saw a faint positive... I used the tests which can be used 4 days early.

After how long would an evaporation line show up? Is it possible it could be a real faint line??

I can't believe that after 3 1/2 years of trying that I could ever get a BFP!

Fantastic to hear! It looks as though you have achieved that BFP mama! - I would definately make the appointment to have your bloods taken, this sounds so promising! Early detection tests are great - I have friends who have also waited right up until the 5-minute mark until they saw that + who are now pregnant. It should be within the allowed limit, most tests are the same but you could check the packaging to be double sure =]

...Evaporation lines can happen, developing when the urine on the test area begins to dry, leaving a faint, usually colorless line. Evaporation lines appear to show up (or not show up) as a result of the composition of the particular urine specimen - and they may appear on any test regardless of brand. Three-Five minutes is the usual optimum time for reading your test, I should think you definately saw your BFP!

wow congrads - mine was extreamly faint too, i had to squint to see it :) im 30 weeks now!

I think that could be a yes, dont you.

I thought any line was a good one.  It may just be faint because the levels are still low due to your eagerness to test early.... lol you only human after all and we all guilty of doing that!

PS if you have another laying around do it first thing in the morn maybe, the levels will be more concerntrated and it should be darker.

I bought one of those 4 days early tests yesterday,

Have 3-4 days to go, but scared to use it, Don't want a neg. But It says that after 5 min. the results are not to be read. if you want to be positive (No pun intended) you can test again when AF was supposed to show and be sure. Baby dust to you

As far as i am concerned a faint second line or faint + is a BFP congrats hope all goes well.All mine were faint but unfortunately i lost mine at almost 5 weeks that doesn't mean you will lose yours a positive is a positive faint or not.

whatever brand of hpt u r using it would say that the test would be shown after this time & it always says that any result u see after the mentioned time limit is over can not be true.suppose the result was to come in one minute but u hold on to it for 4 minutes thats wrong.what u can also do is go & get the blood test done as its always accurate & will give u the peace of mind finaly.all the best,i hope u r pregnant.baby dust to u.

evap lines generally show up after 10 mins. as a rule of thumb, if the line came up within 5 mins i awould say yes you are pregnant x
