You Irish are very Kind!! I'd like to know....if Irish people speak Irish or English language? It's important for me! I'm going to Ireland but I'd like to know what is the city in which I can learn a pure, standard English??!! THANK YOU!!!

  1. We all speak english, apart from people who live in the bog lands, (gaeltacht areas) some of them still speak gaelic!! :)

  3. They speak English, but with an Irish accent which is quite a strong one. If you realy want to learn what you have called a pure, standard English, I would suggest the South of England, which is pretty accentless. Under no circumstances should you learn English in the Midlands!

  4. In some parts of Ireland they speak gaelic, but most places speak English. You won't have a problem.

    Most places in Ireland speak English, (some areas, called Gaeltachts, speak Irish as a first language but also understand English.

    You can learn English in all Irish cities.

    Depending on the city size you want there are many to choose from;

    Derry (NI)

  7. Every Irish person in Ireland speaks English.  Irish is a compulsory subject all the way through school, so everyone learns it.  Many people also speak Irish as their native language.  Irish and English are the two official languages of the state.
