  1. they call the "folks" that take away dead horses... it cost money.  What happens from there, I can't tell you for sure, as it varies per animal.  some horses are buried.

  2. in the bin

  3. They are picked up and cremated.

  4. Most horses who have been euthanized end up in landfills.  Many landowners quietly handle their own on their own land, but even on large farms it's not always legal.

  5. No, it's a fine question.  Don't be embarassed to ask questions.

The answer is, in most cases they have to have the horse disposed of.  There are regulations about where you can bury horses because they are such large animals... they're public health problems if they're allowed to be buried everywhere.  So if a farmer's horse dies or if a horse dies at a riding stable, they have to call someone who removes horses.  Since farms are outside city limits for the most part, usually farm horses could be buried at the farm.  Seabiscuit is buried under one of his favorite trees, but there is no marking and when Charles Howard died, the location of Seabiscuit's grave died with him.  But he's there on the property somewhere.

  6. Depending on the acreage of the farmer's property and heavy equipment, dead animals are buried whole.

If acreage is scarce there are contractors who remove and dispose of carcasses
