Soul Sacrifice defies normal gaming logic – PlayStation Vita News

The up-coming PlayStation Vita title has everyone’s attention as the game’s creator, Keiji Inafune, shared a number of spells players can use in the game, all ending in a way one would not expect.
One developer that is taking the PlayStation Vita a bit more seriously than most as it already has a number of games lined up for Sony’s next generation portable gaming console. Keiji Inafune is known by many in the gaming circles as the developer has worked
on a range of Capcom titles in the past.
Inafune is currently working on what can only be described as one of the most demented games one is likely to see on a portable gaming console and is likely to give games such as SAW and Manhunt a run for their money in the gore department.
The logic behind the game is that the more a player sacrifices, the bigger and more powerful the spell he conjures up will be. An example of which is the ‘Salamander’ spell which, when summoned, burns all the enemies in the player’s vicinity to a crisp.
There is a catch though, one that gamers should expect to encounter on the regular basis, as although the enemies may be burnt to ash, the player himself will suffer severe burns.
Another example is the ‘Excalibur’ spell. This graphic spell allows the player to use their character’s spine and internal organs to conjure up a mighty sword that deals devastation. The only catch is that once the spell is used the player’s character dies.
However, not every spell will require such great demands in terms of personal sacrifice as one could use a spell on a rock to make themselves armor, without the prospect of losing a limb in a process. Another disturbingly interesting spell is the ability
to gauge one’s own eyes out and transform them into laser shooting weapons of destruction.
The game is set to challenge a few of the genre’s norms and rules but the action horror game could be the unique experience that could set the PlayStation Vita apart from all the other consoles and allow it to stand on its – and hopefully for Sony, boost
the sales of the Vita.
