Sound card question?

brainiacs. i have me uh question.

erm. i have my grammas computer now. yup.

the sound on it.. makes everything sound like chipmunks..

its really high pitched.

so my only guess is to take the sound card off of my old computer and put it in my new one.

i have no idea if its just as simple as replaciing the sound card or not..

will the computer throw a fit over a new sound card or.. will it find the new sound card more attractive and s**y enough not to have a problem with it?

im dumb when it comes to computers

That's a tough question to answer without any specifics, but typically changing hardware in a computer requires the installation of a driver so the operating system knows how to communicate with the new hardware. Unless the sound cards are the same, it's likely a new driver will be required. Odds are you don't have the installation CD or know what make/model of sound card is in your other computer. You can transfer drivers from one computer to another using the program DriverMax...check out the link below for instructions...
