  1. You (or someone else) may have set the sound on the flash player to "mute". There should be a volume control on the bottom right of the player or elsewhere.

  2. If you are using Linux of some sort, I've noticed that audio output from one program interferes with the audio output of another. You could turn off software sound mixing in the Sound CP to get programs with audio output to be friendly to each other, but that would disable system alert sounds.

As for Windows. I'm not sure why that would happen. It could be that you have to reinstall Flash if you get your video that way (YouTube, CollegeHumor, Hulu, etc). It could be that the volume is down for Flash. Try running a video in YouTube and put up the volume or unmute it. I notice that when I turn the volume down or mute it in YouTube then other sites with Flash are effected. Like the master volume for Flash is turned down. As far as I know there's no separate volume in the volume CP in Windows for Flash. Make sure you have the Master and WAV volumes up.

  3. is it flash videos you are watching on the internet you may need the latest flash player, if it is a downloaded files then you may need to install codecs like divx or xvid

there is a complete codecs package you can get from download.com
