Sound doesn't work while I'm on the Internet?

Question

Sound works perfectly well when I'm listening to a CD or doing something offline, but when I get online none of the sounds work. I've checked all of the volume settings, they are all on max.

I'm stumped on this one. I've checked some other people's similar questions, and the only answers that I found was to check the volume settings. Like I said, the volume settings are all the way up for everything.

maybe that volume is full but you check it if you check the mute.. check it again.
