Sound from my camera doesn't?

i have a camera, and when i take a video, it has sound, but when i upload it to my iMovie HD, it doesn't come with sound, just the video. any suggestions?

  1. Which camera? I use iMovie HD all the time with my Sony HDR-HC1, Canon Elura 60, and many other camcorders and it works great every time for 4 years...
