Question:

Sound in walls/pipes?

Ok so this morning i noticed a strange sound coming from the wall in the basement, where the main pipes are. When I had my mom listen to it, she said it sounded like air rushing thru. It would go for a few seconds, then stop. Then start again, literally, 2 seconds later. And repeat. I had the AC off at the time. When we turned the AC back on and listened, the sounds of AC running was the same sound that kept going off and on when it was off, only constant.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me what this could be...or a way to fix it? I know, call the landlord, but my mother doesnt think its important enough to cuz "it doesnt bother me" but my room is in the basement and when the AC is off, its really annoying. lol

  1. if its taping its air in the pipes

  2. Noise can be sometimes heard when the pressures equalize for a short time when the unit cycles off but is normal .As far as noise when the unit is operating, there isn't much that can be done about that either.Maybe you'll get used to it and it won't bother you so much.
