Sound on my computer isn't working?

Question

I was playing "The Scruffs" and had the the volume set at a normal level when all of the sudden the volume stopped working. I quit the game and made sure my sound wasn't on mute or anything and it wasn't, so I went on the internet and tried to play some music and it wouldn't play. Then I tried resetting my computer and the sound still didn't work. Then I thought it might just be the speakers, so I plugged my earphones into the computer and the sound still didn't work. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

re install the sound driver..download latest driver from internet...it will work.
