Sound quality change

Question

Hi,One of my speaker wires came loose and made contact with the other while running. It popped and went dead. I turned the HK amp off repaired the wire, turned on the amp and crossed my fingers.I've got pretty good sound but it seems to lack the incredible headroom and midrange it had before. Is this a problem with the speakers or my amp and what can I do about it?
