Question:

Sound trouble on a handful of HD channels?

Ok, I have an HD tv and a surround sound system. I have connected the 2 using my optical audio cables which I just purchased. For the most part, the channels sound pretty great with this setup. But with a handful of my HD channels, it is very difficult to hear spoken dialogue. The deeper sounds and background music and stuff come through just fine, but I can barely hear when people speak. The only thing I've been able to do is turn the volume up on the TV, and use this in conjunction with the surround system to hear everything on these few stations where this problem exists. Has anyone had this happen or know what could be the cause of this? Any recommendations to fix the problem? Thanks!

  1. If you have a 5.1 surround set up and a receiver, you should be able to access the level output for the center channel on your receiver. Increase the volume on the center channel which is where most of the dialog comes from. Good luck
