Question:

Soundproofing my bedroom ?

So I'm 15. I like my music LOUD, but everyone else in the house can't stand my music, and is always telling me to turn it down. Also you can hear everything in my house no matter where you are. I was just wondering if there is a easy way to soundproof my room.

I know egg cartons are supposed to work, but I think that would look so stupid !

Thanks ♥

  1. Thick curtains over the walls.

  2. well you want an easy way. theres isnt 1 egg cartons dont even comptletley soundproof your room it just muffels everything like at a recording studio. but i guess that would dampon it a little. if you want something that wouldnt look so g*y such as cartons go to a music store such as sweetwater.com and order the pads for the sides like in a proffesional music studio personally i think your ****** listen to your parents turn your music down its damaging to your ears haha.

  3. Pricey but a viable option would be acoustic foam. You can get it wedge, pyriamd, and various other interesting designs. If you were to get the 2-4inch version it should greatly reduce any noise from your room.

  4. you have the same issues many young have. and  too heavy a noise level  for too long will damage your hearing permanently. ( it CANNOT be repaired ever)

try  polystyrene sheeting or even the insulating panels  as they build into walls for heat insulation.  not cheap but effective. ideally you need to have panels suspended a little way form the walls ( floor needs insulating too try thick carpet with underlay) ideally a mixture of heavy material-denser the better  eg lead sheeting ) over a soft  sound and vibration absorbing material works best. also is very expensive  so unless you are going to  do a recording studio session?

  5. Polystyrene sheets do a perfect job.

  6. You are going to ruin your ears. just turn it down a bit, same effect, just less damage done
