  1. Bad girl, calm down and stop the screaming lol Being practical there's several draught proofing easy to aply that will help reduce noise and also help insulate the windows for winter comming up.

  2. double glazing

  3. I once lived in an area like your talking about the biggest thing was living near a main street with cars going by all day and night. So what I did in the summer was to put in an AC in the window which kept the noise down from the cars passing. In the winter I covered the window with 1 inch sheetrock with s***w nails so it would be easy-er to remove in the summer to put back the AC and the next winter put back the sheetrock again. It really sound proofed my room from all that noise.

  4. Hang heavy fabric drapes on the windows and close them when the noise bothers you.

  5. I use foam board just like is used to insulate houses in some places.

The brand I use is Celotex, it is black on one side and like aluminum foil on the other and is about 1/2 inch thick.

I measure the window(s) I want to block and use a straight edge to mark the foam board and cut it with box cutter.  It only takes a few minutes, it's cheap and easy to remove and put back if you want.

I did it for light, sound and insulation purposes.

  6. Apart from getting some good double glazing you could try getting some insulating sticky foam strip which will also stop draughts in the winter.

Then again you could move, or get a shotgun :-)
