Sounds that a baby mouse might make?

I have this baby field mouse... and he makes what sounds like a clicking noise. Now i just want to make sure that this isn't him coughing or something. he usually makes this noise if I pick him up or something and its like a constant click click clicking noise.

has anyone here had a pet mouse before? how do you know if he's coughing or just trying to talk or something?

i've never heard one cough before, but i have heard a sneeze and it is not the click, click noise. i've had pet mice (lots of them) because we fed them to someone's snake.

when they make the noise you're talking about, they usually did that when they were hungry.
