The legendary batsman considers his new role in national cricket as a great honour for him. He is thankful to the BCCI for calling him to chair the committee.

general meeting yesterday that they were going to contact Ganguly to persuade him for the vacant post.

Ganguly has just returned from London where he worked as a commentator during India’s failed campaign against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013. He witnessed his former team’s humiliating defeats in a Test and an ODI series and the loss of their top position in world Test rankings.
Some analysts even argue that Gavaskar has abandoned his job due to the Men in Blue’s sudden fall from grace as he wants to avoid public wrath and media questions. However, this view is neither confirmed by the outgoing chairman nor the board.
The BCCI high-ups are confident of the professional skills of Ganguly and believe that the legend will lead the committee perfectly.
The 39-year-old served his national team for 16 years from 1992 to 2008. He achieved many glaring marks in International cricket with the bat and the ball.
The former left-handed batsman played 113 Tess and 311 ODIs, scoring 7212 and 11363 runs respectively in the two formats.
