http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vinod-Ganpat-Kambli-c95376 for baseless claims – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 was rigged.
Ganguly has termed the allegations to be illogical, baseless and late, avowing that if Kambli had something in his mind, he must have outpoured it in the past. He opines that it does not make any sense to come up and blame anyone after a lapse of at least
15 years.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LN-Onyango-c1844 has challenged Kambli to provide solid evidences in order to prove his claims which may ignite a new controversy in International cricket.
Talking to the media, the captain turned commentator, who has 113 Tests and 311 ODIs to his name, said, “This is a big allegation. He should come out with a proof. I want to know why he took 15 years to talk about it. If he has proof let him come out with
it. Just because India batted second in the semifinal and lost the match, it doesn't mean that it was fixed."
Kambli, during a TV debate yesterday, implied that the crucial game of the 50-over showpiece event was fixed, and also averred that his International career was destroyed by that fixing as the manipulated situation did not let him score freely.
He told, “I will never forget the 1996 match because my career ended after this and I was dropped from the team. I was stunned by India's decision to field. I was standing on one side and on the other end my fellow batsman was telling me that we would chase
the target. I don't know what transpired.”
Kambli played 17 Test and 104 ODI matches from 1991 to 2000. His batting averages in both the formats were excellent.
Some analysts fear that Vinod’s fiery remarks may provoke the world cricket authorities to probe into the matter.
Remember, the International cricket comity is already shocked over the spot-fixing scandal of the Pakistani trio, namely http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418. The threesome has been put behind bars for varied terms.
