http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sourav-Chandidas-Ganguly-c90746 may play the next season of IPL as well – Cricket News Update
Former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, is not ready to call it a day from the domestic cricket in the country and has not ruled out a participation in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will be played in 2013.
‘Dada’ led Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 India this season and miserably failed to deliver the goods both as a captain and as a player. Pune finished the season at the bottom of the points table with just eight points after 16 matches.
Ganguly’s batting form made things worse for him as he just managed 268 runs in 15 matches with a strike-rate of less than 100, which is not acceptable in the shortest format of the game.
The left-handed batsman has been immensely criticised in the media by many former cricketers and analysts. The former Indian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bishan-Singh-Bedi-c48133 is one of those who urged Ganguly to retire from domestic cricket as well, in order to make way for the
younger players.
One of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s most successful captains believes that he still has age to play franchise cricket and expressed that he is always hard done by the cricket pundits, who criticise him more than the other failures.
“I will see next season. As a matter of fact, I would not be even 40 when the IPL Six would begin in 2013. I'm also a human and prone to failures. Somehow you have to deal with it. Many captains have failed (in the IPL) but it's Sourav Ganguly who always
makes the headlines,” said Ganguly.
The left-handed batsman also praised the performance of Kolkata Knight Riders’ mystery spinner, Sunil Narine and feels that the 23-year-old cricketer has played a massive role in his team’s success in the tournament. Kolkata has already qualified for the
final of the event and is clearly one of the best teams this year.
Pune’s skipper expressed, "http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Philip-Narine-c91869 is the no 1 reason for their good show this season. He is having a psychological effect on the batsmen. By him bowling a tight spell, puts additional pressure on the batsmen against the other bowlers."
