Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain, has motivated http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 to complete his 100th International century in the upcoming five-match One-Day series against England, scheduled to start on September 3, 2011.
"I am pretty confident that his hundred will come in the one-dayers. Let's not foget Tendulkar is only human after all,” said Ganguly.
Before the recently concluded four-match Test series between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, there was much hype that the batting icon would achieve the feat of hitting his 100th ton in the Test series. But unfortunately, Tenudlkar
like his other fellow batsmen, was not in a good form, and failed to reach his 100th
century.
However, on the final-day of the fourth and final Test, the batting maestro just fell short of nine runs to his century, when he was trapped lbw off Tim Bresnan’s delivery.
“He has reached 99 hundreds, so obviously he will get to the 100 mark. I cannot stop being proud of him," added foreign Indian batsman.
In the series against England, another important performance by Tendulkar was seen in the second innings of the second Test game, where he scored 56 runs off 86 balls, including four boundaries, and was trapped lbw by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705.
The right-handed batsman, playing in the eight innings of the four-match Test series, scored 273 runs at an average of 34.12 and has been the fifth highest run scorer of the series, which India lost 0-4 against English.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s performance has been immensely criticised by the experts in the Test series against England, where they failed in the batting as well as in the bowling department.
Despite having a strong batting line-up, the tourists failed to cross 300 runs in the first three games of the series. India’s poor performance in the series against England cost them their top status in ICC’s Test rankings and
the former world's Test number one ultimately slipped to the third spot on the table after the 3rd match defeat.
The upcoming ODI series will also be a great challenge for India as Andrew Strauss’ men are determined to make their mark in the 50-over format as well.
