Sourav Ganguly set to feature for Bengal on the Ranji Cup – Cricket News Update

Speaking to PTI earlier this week, Dasgupta announced that Ganguly will be letting go of his commentary commitments for some time and will be playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Manoj-Tiwary-c1890 led Bengal team, for the whole of Ranji season.
The former Indian Test cricketer also comprehended that Ganguly, commonly known as ‘Dada’, seems to be quite motivated for the upcoming competition, and has been quite active in the nets recently.
“It shows how motivated is Ganguly to play this season. He trains regularly to keep himself in shape and will be available for the entire Ranji Trophy, one-day and T20 matches," Dasgupta said. “His presence in the dressing room itself will be a big inspiration
for the youngsters. We are looking forward to our first match.”
Earlier, Ganguly, regarded as India’s batting legend, announced that he will be available for the Ranji season, but may not be appearing for the Twenty20 (T20) outings.
“I am available to play for Bengal in the four-day and 50-over (Ranji) matches. However, I will not be available for the T20 ties,” Ganguly told reporters earlier.
Although Ganguly has already bid farewell to his International commitment with the India, marking an imposing 16 years long stint for the Men in Blue, but the batting great still remains active on the practice session.
Ganguly marked his first ever appearance for India in January 1992, during a One Day International (ODI) outing against the West Indian side in Brisbane. However, four years down the road, the top order batsman also premiered his Test career at Lord’s against
the English hosts in 1996.
Till his last ODI match in 2007 against the Pakistani tourists, Ganguly played 311 matches under the format, scoring a mammoth tally of 11363 runs, as well as bagged 100 wickets as a medium paced bowler.
As for his Test profile, the left-armed batter appeared in 113 matches, aggregating 7212 runs, alongside a minor toll of 32 wickets.
